The Texas Foundation for Innovative Communities is a non-profit funded by the state of Texas to develop global competitiveness in “Clean Tech,” the world’s fastest growing industry, a $7 trillion global opportunity. TFIC’s initiatives are designed to be replicable across all of Texas’ strategic industries. The next slides list our three flagship projects.
TFIC is developing a statewide platform to match national “best practices” in the competition for new, high-impact research missions. The short-term application will multiply Texas current performance in the SBIR/STTR and ARPA-e funding competitions. Longer-term implementation will provide a multiple of Texas’ current attainment of federal research funds.
The Texas Association of Research Parks and Incubators will provide a platform for the transformation of an entire regional economy through carefully cultivated spillover effects, enhanced development practices, the creation of state policy and incentives, and much more.
provides a platform to accelerate industry innovation. A coordinated “cluster initiative” is necessary to answer the challenge, providing constant coordination between all of the stakeholders – clean tech companies, supply chain, government, education, workforce, researchers, investors, and entrepreneurs.
